Most Anticipated Book of 2022

Can you all even believe it's 2022?! The year 2021 was a whirlwind, and I really hope 2022 ain't like 2021 or 2020 but with omicron on the way, yeah.....

But once again, this year, I'll be reading books and ignoring the vast amount of problems I'll have. There are so many final instalments of books coming out this year, and I am literally dying to read them. For this list, I'm just counting down my most anticipated books this year.

CHAIN OF THORNS, CASSANDRA CLARE

SERIES - The Last Hours

SYNOPSIS - Not yet out

EXPECTED RELEASE DATE - November 1st

MY THOUGHTS -  Obviously, this book is in my most anticipated reads. The Shadowhunter series is one of the best series I have ever read, and I think even 4 years in the future, when I am even out of college, I will still be reading shadowhunter chronicles. I have literally pre-ordered both Chain of Gold and Chain of Iron from the US because it isn't available where I live. Chain of Thorns is basically the last and final instalment in The Last Hour trilogy, which revolves around James Herondale, Cordelia Carstairs, and their friends. Remembering the pain and the angst in Chain of Iron makes me want to burst into tears right now. When Chain of Thorns got delayed for November, instead of being released in March, I died a little inside. I can't wait till I have this beautiful collector's edition in my hand

KINGDOM OF THE FEARED, KERRI MANISCALCO

SERIES - The Kingdom of Wicked

SYNOPSIS - Not yet out

EXPECTED RELEASE DATE - September 27th

MY THOUGHTS - I meant it when I said many final instalments this year. Kingdom of the Feared is the third and final instalment in the Kingdom of the Wicked series. Kingdom of the Wicked series is about 2 sisters, one of them ends up dead, and the other summons the prince of hell to help her find the murderer. This series had it all, from the fantastic world-building to the slow-developing of the characters and the relationships and, of course, the mind-blowing mystery. There were so many plotholes, especially one main cliff-hanger that I am so excited and kind of scared to find out the answer to in this book. Another thing I hope and wish is that the author continues the third book right from the moment the second book ended and does not skip a day ahead because if that happens, I will literally cry.

HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER, TESSA BAILEY

SERIES - Bellinger Sisters

SYNOPSIS - King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt. Everyone knows he's a guaranteed good time--in bed and out--and that's exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She's immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his... personality? And wants to be friends? Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is. Now, Hannah's in town for work, crashing in Fox's spare bedroom. She knows he's a notorious ladies' man, but they're definitely just friends. In fact, she's nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague, and Fox is just the person to help with her lackluster love life. Armed with a few tips from Westport's resident Casanova, Hannah sets out to catch her coworker's eye... yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead. As the line between friendship and flirtation begins to blur, Hannah can't deny she loves everything about Fox, but she refuses to be another notch on his bedpost. Living with his best friend should have been easy. Except now she's walking around in a towel, sleeping right across the hall, and Fox is fantasizing about waking up next to her for the rest of his life and... and... man overboard! He's fallen for her, hook, line, and sinker. Helping her flirt with another guy is pure torture, but maybe if Fox can tackle his inner demons and show Hannah he's all in, she'll choose him instead?

EXPECTED RELEASE DATE - March 1st

MY THOUGHTS - I have always loved every book I have read by Tessa Bailey till now, and I really hope I love this one too. I saw the synopsis of this book before I read the first book in the Bellinger sister, It Happened One Summer, and I loved it at first sight. The angst that this book will have and the pain Fox will go through with having to help Hannah with her dating life is just chef's kiss. It's Tessa Bailey, so we can definitely expect a great plot with a great romance, and I will definitely read it.

THE WAR OF TWO QUEENS, JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT

SERIES - From Blood and Ash

SYNOPSIS - From the desperation of golden crowns… Casteel Da'Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could've prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable. And born of mortal flesh… Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life's guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace. A great primal power rises… Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most. As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.

EXPECTED RELEASE DATE - March 15th

MY THOUGHTS - I have such a big rant about this, but I am not going to rant here to keep this from spoiling the other three books, especially the third book's ending, which, if you don't know, ends yet again at a cliff-hanger. I loved the plot of this book so much, but something you should know if you pick up this series is that the books are huge, like not even a single out of the series; each book is such a big read and filled with some unnecessary details. I read a bunch of teasers for this book, and I am a little bit scared for Casteel, but I have not yet given up on hope. After reading the teasers, I have some theories, and I can DNF the series if one of them comes true but let's hope not.

LOVE ON BRAIN, ALI HAZELWOOD

SERIES - The Love Hypothesis

SYNOPSIS -  Like an avenging, purple-haired Jedi bringing balance to the mansplained universe, Bee Königswasser lives by a simple code: What would Marie Curie do? If NASA offered her the lead on a neuroengineering project—a literal dream come true after years scraping by on the crumbs of academia—Marie would accept without hesitation. Duh. But the mother of modern physics never had to co-lead with Levi Ward. Sure, Levi is attractive in a tall, dark, and piercing-eyes kind of way. And sure, he caught her in his powerfully corded arms like a romance novel hero when she accidentally damseled in distress on her first day in the lab. But Levi made his feelings toward Bee very clear in grad school—archenemies work best employed in their own galaxies far, far away. Now, her equipment is missing, the staff is ignoring her, and Bee finds her floundering career in somewhat of a pickle. Perhaps it's her occipital cortex playing tricks on her, but Bee could swear she can see Levi softening into an ally, backing her plays, seconding her ideas…devouring her with those eyes. And the possibilities have all her neurons firing. But when it comes time to actually make a move and put her heart on the line, there's only one question that matters: What will Bee Königswasser do?

EXPECTED RELEASE DATE - August 22nd

MY THOUGHTS -  How can another STEM-based romance from Ali Hazelwood not be on my most anticipated books this year. I absolutely loved The Love Hypothesis, and I can bet this book will be as good as the one before because the synopsis is so good. I have read the first chapter of this book which was given at the end of the Love Hypothesis, and I can already feel the angst and the tension. I absolutely loved the first chapter, and I want to obviously read it soon. Waiting till August is such a pain.

TWISTED HATE, ANA HUANG

SERIES - The Twisted Series

SYNOPSIS -  He hates her...almost as much as he wants her. Gorgeous, cocky, and fast on his way to becoming a hotshot doctor, Josh Chen has never met a woman he couldn't charm—except for Jules f**king Ambrose. The beautiful redhead has been a thorn in his side since they met, but she also consumes his thoughts in a way no woman ever has. When their animosity explodes into one unforgettable night, he proposes a solution that'll get her out of his system once and for all: an enemies with benefits arrangement with simple rules. No jealousy. No strings attached. And absolutely no falling in love. Outgoing and ambitious, Jules Ambrose is a former party girl who's focused on one thing: passing the attorney's bar exam. The last thing she needs is to get involved with a doctor who puts the SUFFER in insufferable…no matter how good-looking he is. But the more she gets to know him, the more she realizes there's more than meets the eye to the man she's hated for so long. Her best friend's brother. Her nemesis. And her only salvation. Theirs is a match made in hell, and when the demons from their past catch up with them, they're faced with truths that could either save them …or destroy everything they've worked for.

EXPECTED RELEASE DATE - January 27th

MY THOUGHTS - I might be a little bit too excited about this book because Ana Huang, the author of this book, acknowledged my presence on Instagram, and I got a VIP's only email with the cover reveal. Yeah, I am still shocked that happened. I absolutely loved the Twisted Love and The Twisted Game, and I have been waiting for Josh and Jules' book to come out, and now we are so close to the release, and I'm just more excited. Recently on Insta, Ana posted a reel saying she's started working on Stella and who I hope is Christian's book, and I'm just so excited to read their story as well.

THE AMERICAN ROOMMATE EXPERIMENT, ELENA ARMAS

SERIES - The Spanish Love Deception

SYNOPSIS - Not yet out

EXPECTED RELEASE DATE - August 18th

MY THOUGHTS - Elena Armas is done with editing the book, and it's about Rosie, Catalina's best friend and Lucas, Catalina's cousin with a dog. From what we know about this book till now is that it's a slow-burn, roommate romance in Dual Point of View. It will also have more of Aaron and Catalina, so even if I end up not liking the synopsis, I will definitely read it because we just might get to see a Baby Blackford or an Aarolina wedding.

1. THE FINAL GAMBIT, JENNIFER LYNN BARNS
