7 murder mysteries to keep you up all night

Murder mysteries are one of my favorite genres. Who doesn't like the suspense and the thrill you get while reading it? Plus, there can't be a happy or a sad ending in a murder mystery! Even if the murderer is not caught in the end, the murderer is still identified. There is this thing about murder mysteries that you don't want to stop once you start them until you get the name of the murderer, even if it's a poorly written novel. So, here is a list of my top 7 murder mysteries book that I love reading so much that I have read some of them 2 times (even if I knew the murderer). If you think this list will be filled with Agatha Christie, then you are not wrong because she is one of my favorite authors, but it still has other authors like Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Tana French.

7. The Mysterious Affairs at Styles, Agatha Christie

This book is set during World War I in England at Styles Court, an Essex country manor. After the death of her Husband's death, Emily Cavendish inherited an estate in Styles and a part of his income. Her 2 sons John and Lawrence Cavendish, John's wife and Mary, also live in Styles. Mrs. Cavandish also becomes Mrs. Inglrthorp after marrying a much younger man. Late one night, the people of Styles find Mrs.Inglethorp dying of strychnine. She fought with someone, a new will was written, she left town. So who killed her? read and find out

6. A Study in Scarlet, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

This book introduces us to Sherlock Holmes and Dr.Watson. The two meet due to a mutual friend and then become flat-mates in the famous 221B Baker Street. The 2 are pulled into an investigation when Detective Gregson comes to them and asks for help from Sherlock. A corpse is found in Brixton, London, in a derelict house with the words RACHE written on the wall with blood. A ring is also seen with a name on it. But what happens when someone claims the ring? Or when the wrong person is arrested?

5. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, Agatha Christie

One of the best pieces of Agatha Christie is The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Roger Ackroyd was someone who knew too much. He knew his love poisoned her first husband and that she was being blackmailed. He also knew she had suicided with a drug overdose. But what he didn't know was who was blackmailing her. Just as he was about to read her suicide note and find the one blackmailing her, he was stabbed through the neck in his study. Follow the journey of Hercule Poirot to find out who the murderer and blackmailer was? Were they the same person?

4. In The Woods, Tana French

Different from the rest in this list, this book is the first book of the Dublin Murder Squad series. Set in a Dublin suburb, mothers call their kids back, but 3 kids never return from the woods. When the police arrive, all they find is one of the boys covered in blood, remembering nothing from that night. 20 years later, he is a detective and part of the Dublin Murder Squad and is faced with an investigation about a girl who was murdered in the same woods, which is mystically very similar to the unsolved mystery from before. Can he uncover the truth about the 2 secrets? Will he find out about his past and that night?

3. And Then There Were None, Agatha Christie

10 strangers brought together, as weekend guests, to a private island off the coast of Devon, by a millionaire unknown. All the guests have a past and secrets so dark they aren't willing to share. Each of the rooms has the same poem, about 10 boys.

What will they do when they find out all of them, one by one, are being murdered in the same way described in the poem? Will they uncover the creator of this plan?

2. The Hound Of Baskervilles, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

None other than Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson star in this book. The two are called Sir Charles Baskervilles, killed mysteriously, and the new heir of Baskerville hall is getting threats. Is the real reason the generations-old curse about a beast bringing death to the lord of the Baskervilles hall, or is it some mastermind plotting? Read this book to follow one of the best sherlock holmes novels.

1. Murder on the Orient Express, Agatha Christie

This novel is the best of Hercule Poirot and Agatha Christie for me. Due to a snowdrift, Orient Express came to a stop. But what happens when they find a businessman dead, stabbed a dozen times? Hercule Poirot is put to work as they are stranded in a train with a murderer amidst them. Every person on this train has a connection with the dead businessman.

The real question is, who on the express has the capability of murdering a murder?
