10 Places to visit if you are a potterhead
As a Potterhead, let's be real; we all waited for our Hogwarts letter to arrive when we were eleven. Well, if we can't get that letter and visit actual Hogwarts, we can definitely experience a harry potter experience.
Here is a list of the top 10 places you definitely don't wanna miss if you a Potterhead.
10. Black Park, Iver, England
Ever wanna visit the forbidden forest? Probably no. But still, you can visit this park in Iver to see where the Forbidden forest was filmed. Who knows, maybe you'll find Aragog or Firenze there.
9. Georgian House Hotel, London
Going to visit every London harry potter destination, well you better have a hotel to stay. So why not a harry potter themed hotel in London. This hotel has harry potter themed rooms with cauldrons, spell books, and potions. This hotel gives you a full stay at Hogwarts experience.
8. Alnwick Castle, Northumberland
as a Potterhead, did you ever want to play quidditch or fly on a broom? Well, this place doesn't make it happen, but you can visit the site where Harry Potter and The golden trio had their first flying lessons by Madam Hooch. This victorian castle was one of the major shooting areas for the first movie.
7. Reptile House, London
Remember when Harry spoke parseltongue for the first time, and Dudley got trapped inside the glass. Yeah, I'm talking about the opening scene. Want to visit the site used for the first shots, there is your chance.
6. King Cross Station, London
Well, not all places are magical in the book! You can visit King Cross station. You won't find platform 9¾ because well, it doesn't exist, but you can see the half luggage cart, which is perfectly positioned to be in 9¾ and half in platform 9.

If you are a die-hard Potterhead, you may know many of the scenes of the Hogwarts were shot here. Harry Potter fans visit this place because of the Bodleian library, which is used as a shooting destination for 4 movies, Duke Humphreys medieval library, which was used as Hogwarts library and Divinity school, which serves as the Hogwarts infirmary. The hallways and the courtyards are also used for shooting the Christchurch college dining hall, which was used as the inspiration for Great Hall.
4. Glenfinnan Viaduct, Scotland
Imagine riding the Hogwarts express every year, now that would be an experience we, unfortunately, won't get, but we can get pretty close to it visiting this spot in Scotland. Plus, you can actually take the train journey and find out how it actually feels to ride in Hogwarts express. The tickets just start at €30. (I never mentioned it will not be expensive).

This college in Poland actually offers a LARPing (Live Action Role Play) 4-day experience. Exploring this 14th-century castle, compete with other houses to win a house-cup and attend the Yule ball (more likely the welcome ball). This once in a lifetime experience offers classes and a chance to meet people as crazy as you.

Take this studio tour to see the sets, the original costumes, and authentic props that were used in the making of the movie, from the great hall to Diagon alley and forbidden forest. You can also watch some of the harry potter scenes being reenacted.

For a full wizarding world experience, you should definitely visit the Wizarding World of harry potter. You can shop from Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, Ollivander's, and Flourish and Blotts. Or you can ride with Hagrid on Buckbeak, Escape from Gringotts and tour the Hogwarts. There are two harry potter parks, Diagon and Knockturn Alley, and Hogwarts and Hogsmead. Both are connected with the Hogwarts express, and you can travel between the two. You can have a butterbeer at Leaky Cauldron. Also, you can buy an interactive wand that actually works in some specially created spots.
Very interesting, though I am not a Harry Potter series follower but this blog which is beautifully written, has really aroused interest in the Harry Potter world.
